I love the compassionate and nurturing side of nursing. To me, that is what “the art of nursing” is all about. Students make nursing fun as well. I knew I would love teaching because I enjoyed precepting new grads as well as having student nurses orient with me. Pediatric theory is my passion and I really try to make lecture fun. In the class, I love to use scenarios as well as my experiences over the past 25 years to help students learn pediatrics.
Diploma: Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing (1982)

I went straight to the NICU after graduation. I worked there as a primary nurse, charge nurse, preceptor and CPR instructor. I also have 5 years experience in CCU. I learned quite a bit but was never happy. I just felt like I had to learn the ropes of adult health so I made myself work there! Needless to say I went back to the NICU and that is where I’ll stay. (Of course I would like to try working in the PICU at Brenner sometimes) I continue to work in staffing in the NICU a few hours/week and quite a bit in the summer.
